Job Description

- Lead onboarding training for new Visual Inspectors with training all applicable procedures.
- VIS may also train new VIS personnel/Qualified personnel.
- Adapt training methodology to the learner for an optimal outcome.
- Oversees PGS Learning Solution (PLS) enrollments, inputs completion data into the program, and submits training documentation to the GMP Training team to ensure compliance and alignment
- Coordinates daily with their peers and works independently to ensure tasks are completed.
- Maintain Inspection Test Sets.
- Inputs data into the Visual Inspection Defect Tracking (VIDT) system.
- Packaging floor support & performing AQL inspection.
- Leading investigations
- Writing/updating procedures and batch records.
- Implementing CAPA’s.
- Processing change controls.
- Capital project support
- Conducting monthly audits and annual requalification on everyone trained to perform manual visual inspection.
- The VIS role completes GMP documentation daily and may be assigned other activities such as defect creation for system suitability test sets.
- Education: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years applicable experience; preferred: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physical/Biological Sciences, Business, Integrated Supply Management, or related applicable discipline that will enable the team to meet its mission.
- Experience: Previous experience as an Inspection Operator or Line Coordinator is desired
- Language Skills: Good oral and written communication skills
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate percentages as well as multiplication and division
- Reasoning Ability: Colleague must have an acceptable level of reasoning ability.
- Physical Demands: Repetitive bending, lifting, and twisting as well as standing for extended periods of time.
- Work Environment: Colleague is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The light level in the work environment is lowered to accommodate inspection processes. Use eye protection is required.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Visual Inspection Specialist (VIS) is expected to be fully trained on all applicable Manual Inspection procedures.
The Visual Inspection Specialist will be required to be fully trained in conducting defect classification on completed products. The VIS will train and/or re-qualify Inspection and/or Filling colleagues on Manual Inspection vial procedures and also maintain their yearly training requirements as guided in their OJTs as a VIS. Interpersonal skills are important within this role, as you will be expected to interact with and possibly correct individual colleague behavior and practices. With Quality department guidance, the VIS will carry out decisions relative to product quality on penicillin product defects throughout the value stream. The VIS will be expected to hand off information at shift change/meetings and may be asked to communicate information with other units and shifts to ensure alignment. The VIS may be asked to oversee all aspects of training documentation in PLS, inspect product, participate in special projects, perform training room inspections, perform AQLs, defect classification, audits, or other miscellaneous activities which includes any and all work as assigned. Some computer support of operations personnel will also be required to help new colleagues and contractors navigate to their training documents. Work is performed in strict compliance with manufacturing standards and all regulatory requirements. Additionally, completion of investigations in a timely manner and implementing effective CAPA’s and updating batch records and procedures.

Although this is a first-shift position, the selected candidate will be required to work occasional evening/weekend/alternative shifts to support packaging.
