- Develop and deliver business unit financial commitments in program/project EACs, investment returns, and AOPs, and multi year financial planning process
- Facilitate change by seeking opportunities to transform or improve systems, processes, and model adaptability
- Review bids and proposals, customer contract performance, new opportunity development
- Collaborate on assessment of strategic partnerships and M&A activities
- Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, resolving problems, and implementing change
- Drive financial control by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Eliminate bottlenecks to improve cycle time
- Drive financial transformation to drive automation and access to information to collaborators
- Perform financial analysis to support investments, pricing and new business decisions
- Drive cost reduction and efficiency. Establish targets, drive progress, and measure results
- Contribute to development of Finance related training
- Accomplish finance related HR strategy by determining accountabilities, communicating and implementing values, policies, and procedures in conjunction with recruitment and workforce management activities.
- Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans
- Supervise financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
- Lead improvement of risk and opportunity analysis and development of mitigation plans
- Maximize returns on invested funds
- Skilled business executive who is strategic, practical and hands on, and goes beyond the financial role and serves as a key executive in all aspects of the business. Proven track record of building, managing and leading an efficient and impactful finance organization.
- Experience holding broad scope roles across the finance spectrum, encompassing accounting, FP&A, contracts, sales, strategic planning, and merger and acquisitions.
- Served as a thought partner to Business Unit Executive/CEO helping to advise, influence and drive key business decisions
- Experience creating and building fundamental framework and core financial infrastructure including people, process and tools
- Successfully implement controls, processes, and risk management initiatives
- Effective influencer and frequent communicator across organizational levels
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, large-scale projects and dynamically shift focus and reprioritize when needed
- Success in motivating, training, recruiting, and developing superb talent
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to evaluate the need for change and the impact to the business, a builder
- The highest level of integrity, unquestionable ethics, and excellent judgement
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant field
- 15 - 20+ years’ of professional experience in Finance, to include manufacturing and R&D settings
- Professional Aerospace and Defense industry experience
- Experience in a Financial leadership role with multi billion-dollar business unit responsibility
- Experience with multiple legal entities and sites
- Extensive cash management experience
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, project and cost accounting, and rates
- Experience in government contracting/government cost accounting and solid understanding of FAR and DFAR
- Experience mentoring and coaching both financial and non-financial staff across the enterprise
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- MBA or Master’s degree
- CPA, CMA
- Blend of both early-stage, high-growth and large company experience
- Experience leading finance strategy related to M&A activities

As a Blue Origin Business Unit CFO, you will partner with the Senior Executive of a complex, rapidly growing Business Unit to provide executive financial leadership driving performance improvement and predictability while building a best-in-class business.
Partnering with the business unit Senior Executive and other members of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for all business unit financial management. This role will provide critical analysis and financial strategy as an advisor to business leaders, supporting strategic operating decisions. These may include decisions on capital investments, mission objectives, schedule performance, new business opportunities, and product and service pricing.
You'll be tasked with building the financial infrastructure and a scalable finance function that has the right people, processes, and tools to enable growth.
