      Responsibilities

      Who are you?

      Responsible for managing all employment law and litigation matters on behalf of Personify Health. The successful candidate will be both a strategic advisor and hands-on problem solver. He or she will provide practical, business-oriented day-to-day employment law and advice and counseling to HR professionals and business managers and manage all outstanding disputes and litigation matters in which Personify is involved.

      This position requires a proactive approach and close collaboration with human resources and, other business stakeholders, and the other attorneys in the Legal Department.

      In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:

      • Partner with HR professionals and other business stakeholders to act as a trusted legal adviser, providing advice and counseling on multi-jurisdictional employment laws, including, but not limited to, wage/hour compliance; leaves of absence and accommodations; background screenings; discrimination; and retaliation.
      • Advise HR professionals on emerging legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment and labor obligations in multi-jurisdictional operations.
      • Review and revise internal policies and procedures to ensure multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance.
      • Develop and deliver proactive training to business leaders on a wide variety of employment law matters.
      • Provide legal representation and/or supervise outside counsel regarding employment litigation, government administrative agency charges, audits, and investigations (e.g., EEOC, DOL, OSHA, and state/local agencies) as well as attorney demand letters and claims involving employment-related concerns.
      • Draft and negotiate employment-related documents including separation agreements and restrictive covenant agreements.
      • Partner with and advise HR professionals regarding internal investigations, as well as compensation, ERISA, and immigration matters.
      • Manage all outstanding commercial and other litigation involving Personify, including without limitation choosing and overseeing outside counsel, attending hearings and reviewing court filings, and interacting with Personify’s insurance carriers
      • Responding to customer and partner complaints and other disputes

      Qualifications

      What you bring to the Personify Health team:

      In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

      • JD from an accredited school with strong academic credentials.
      • Minimum 10 years’ experience practicing employment law, in-house and/or with a national or regional law firm.
      • Experience as a litigator at a national or regional law firm preferred
      • Active license to practice law in at least one state

      • Significant experience in identifying employment law risks and formulating strategies regarding same, as well as in providing practical, timely, and solution-oriented advice and counseling to business clients at various levels of the organization.
      • Thorough experience engaging in commercial and other litigation matters; past participation and experience as a litigator and in managing outside counsel
      • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and develop practical solutions that mitigate legal risks and align with business objectives.
      • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and assume significant responsibility in keeping with the level of experience in employment law.
      • Excellent organizational and analytical skills. This position requires fast-paced multi-tasking and the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple issues involving business partners in various locations.
