      OVERVIEW

      Alera Group is looking for a VP, Internal Absence Management Practice Leader.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Develop and lead internal absence management consulting capabilities, including standardized service packages, scalable frameworks, and coordination with external practices; partner with Producers to identify opportunities and support sales efforts
      • Serve as the firm’s subject matter expert on absence, disability, and leave programs; provide consulting services, compliance guidance, vendor evaluation, and thought leadership content
      • Represent the practice in client meetings and proposals, positioning the firm as a trusted advisor on absence management
      • Recruit, develop, and manage a team of consultants and analysts; establish training programs, career pathways, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
      • Ensure operational excellence by creating tools, templates, and standards; integrate services into client workflows, monitor quality and satisfaction, collaborate with other practice leaders, and track key metrics

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • 10+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits, absence/disability management, or related HR consulting disciplines, with deep technical knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PFML, state disability programs, and absence program design (required)
      • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and deliver scalable processes and service frameworks (required)
      • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior HR executives and C-suite leaders, and supporting producer-led client relationships (required)
      • CEBS certification and/or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field; experience launching practices or service lines, expanding client relationships, and understanding insurance brokerage models (preferred)
      • Skilled in managing direct and matrix teams across multiple locations, with knowledge of absence management technology platforms and vendor landscape (preferred)

      Salary range is $200K to 250K per year.
