  Job Description

  Role Summary:

  The VP - Multinational Producing Office Lead UK plays a key role in the build out and growth of Sompo’s Multinational business and capabilities in the UK, across all Lines of Business and branches.

  Reporting directly to SVP Multinational EMEA, this role is responsible for developing a strong, scalable UK Producing Office operating model, driving and maintaining a consistent end-to-end (E2E) process, ensuring service standards are met and successful client outcomes are achieved.

  The role will be key in building and managing Sompo’s Multinational business in the UK, building up our service capabilities and fostering strong relationships with underwriters, brokers, clients, and the Sompo network. The role will also develop relationships with UK underwriters and distribution colleagues, operating as a trusted advisor, in particular to support the translation of their underwriting intent into compliant Multinational insurance solutions, as a recognized senior level subject matter expert. Furthermore, the role will work closely with the Multinational COO network to implement change and operational improvement initiatives.

  Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage and grow a best-in-class, scalable Multinational Producing Office within Sompo’s UK business
  • Drive the identification and adoption of best practice programme design and execution methodologies and processes for Complex & Standard business
  • Identify and implement process, technology and knowledge improvement opportunities and change initiatives
  • Take responsibility for ensuring accurate submissions are accepted, polices are issued, reinsurance transactions and bookings are processed, and premiums are remitted in a timely, accurate fashion
  • Ensure global Multinational E2E process, procedures and controls are adhered to in close collaboration with the Multinational Global Operations team
  • Build and manage strong Multinational hub team, network partner and Sompo Issuing Office relationships
  • Maintain strong relationships with underwriters, distribution and operations to promote Sompo Multinational and support growth strategies
  • Manage team activities to achieve performance targets
  • Drive and maintain the consistent high standards in service delivery
  • Produce, monitor and act on operational performance reporting/SLAs
  • Manage assigned direct reports and develop their knowledge, skills and experience, and acting as a mentor
  • Manage and resolve client service issues and act as a ‘go-to’ point of escalation
  • Act as a senior go-to Multinational subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend client and broker meetings where necessary, in support of underwriting and distribution
  • Handles multiple lines of business (Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Marine Cargo)

  Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Commercial insurance background, with Multinational programme experience, preferably in a client servicing roles
  • Strong client focus, experienced working with multinational clients and brokers
  • Deep technical knowledge of multinational insurance programmes strongly preferred (design and execution)
  • Strong people management skills
  • Able to identify and implement operational and process improvements (Six Sigma certification a plus)
  • Ability to work and adjust with people from different backgrounds, countries and cultures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines /Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • IT packages; MS Outlook, Excel and Word
  • CII Qualification desirable
