Three (3) years previous experience in related field.

A valid Texas Driver's License and an acceptable driving record, forklift certification required and may be obtained on the job.

REQUIRED:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Responsible for the operation of warehouse receiving. Ensures all merchandise is received, processed and rerouted for deliveries in accordance with policy and procedures. Assists in the installation and setup of new campuses and classroom additions. Assists when required in the tagging, transfer and retrieval of fixed assets and textbooks.
Maintains a clean and orderly warehouse receiving area.
Maintains warehouse receiving system software.
Verifies accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, describing, or identifying code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders, records any discrepancies or damage.
Opens crates and other containers using hand tools to unpack items received and inspects for damage and defects.
Sorts and stores items according to established procedures (fixed assets, textbooks, etc.).
Reads and fills requisitions for book items; verifies accuracy of orders pulled.
Moves merchandise to various locations manually or by operating mechanical equipment, such as a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart. Loads and unloads delivery truck by hand or by use of hand truck as needed.
Drives truck to various schools/departments to deliver materials and/or books; obtains authorized signature for supplies delivered. Requisitions additional supplies as needed to ensure all items are available.
Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers. Assists in the installation and setup of new campuses and classroom additions.
Maintains forklift certification.
Drives District vehicle to and from work site; obeys all traffic laws.
Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Maintains confidentiality.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.
Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required.
