Job Title: Welder and Fitter

Job Description

Welders will be fabricating and pipe fitting. The fabrication part will involve creating large frames using angle iron and 2" square tubing. The pipe fitting will be welding pipe anywhere from 3" in diameter to 24" in diameter. Welders will be responsible for cutting steel, washing steel, grinding, using oxy acetylene torch and more shop tools. They will need to weld with confidence and consistency for their level of experience. Welders will not only be welding. The projects are done in phases and when the welding phase is complete they will be expected to help out in other departments such as Electrical, Plumbing, Testing, etc. A majority of the time will be spent welding though. Flux core dual shield wire. 035 and 045.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate large frames using angle iron and 2" square tubing
• Weld pipes ranging from 3" to 24" in diameter
• Cut, wash, and grind steel
• Use oxy acetylene torch and other shop tools
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Assist in other departments like Electrical, Plumbing, and Testing when welding phase is complete

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG and Flux core welding
• Experience in pipe fitting
• Ability to weld with confidence and consistency
• Blueprint reading
• Experience with fabrication and plasma cutting
• Previous 3G and 4G welding certifications
• 5 years of welding experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with schematics

Work Environment

This role is based in an indoor manufacturing facility with air conditioning. Expect to work with various shop tools and participate in different phases of projects, with a majority of the time spent welding.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
