Verify detailed parts are conforming to print.
Plan sequences of welding operations and determine methods of welding to weld pipe and pipe fittings into pipe assemblies, using available welding processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (TIG) and gas metal arc welding (MIG).
Perform setup incidental for welding operations, working from Solumina Manufacturing Execution System, blueprints, sketches, other authorized documents and/or oral instructions.
Weld any gauge materials where welded areas are subject to high pressure or extreme stress and where care must be taken to prevent leaks and cracks.
Weld flat, vertical or overhead areas, or in difficult positions and areas difficult of access. Recognize need for and pre-heat materials as necessary and minimize warpage by proper location of weld and stress relieving methods.
Form and shape details, as required. Improvise welding aids such as paper templates, locating devices, holding blocks, etc.
Perform surface preparation of parts such as cleaning, sanding, grinding, polishing and some assembly of parts.
Clean and dress welds including the cutting and repairing of unacceptable weld joints.
Check own work for conformance to specifications.
Must pass and maintain required certifications.
Use all necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform work as a journeyman. Must be able to climb and weld from ladders, scaffolds roofs, and in pits.
Maintain safe and good shop practices.
Engage in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, velocity and cost within Pipes and Structures Manufacturing department.
Pressure piping welding experience "Combo Welder"
Experience using all 4 limbs
Pipe Fitting (Angles /Rotation/Clocking
Shipyard pipping experience
Previous Welding experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment or possess a welding certification from an accredited college or institution
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, datum lines and tolerances to produce defect-free work
Knowledge of hand tools, measuring devices and their proper application
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English language
Proficiency in shop math
Comfortable in using a computer
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35lbs and wear welder face shield
Willing to work any shift
Previous pipe welding experience
Ability to weld using a rotary turntable positioner

This occupation requires the use of all available welding processes to fusion weld ferrous and non-ferrous metals to meet the welding requirements in Pipes and Structures Manufacturing department. Upon onboarding, the welder will undergo qualification procedures to meet the requirements of the ASME B31.3 and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Successful passing of welder qualification is required to continue the assignment.

Compensation & Benefits
Base rate for this role ranges from $16.30, to $37.48. Actual rate will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:
