Job Description
- Req#: 92974
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or other bachelor’s degree program providing similar and equivalent training and skills.
- Experience: Minimum three years related experience preferred.
- Certification/License/Registration: Basic Cardiac Life Support/Automated Externatl Defibrillator (BCLS/AED).
- Position Titles and Number Supervised: None
- Special Training/Skills: Must have strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to see, hear, and verbally communicate; be able to move about freely, and have manual dexterity and the ability to perform and teach aerobic and anaerobic activities. Stands and walks throughout the day. May be exposed to light lifting.
Job Summary: Designs, implements, and coordinates evidence-based chronic disease management and prevention programs aimed at reducing overall health risk factors to improve health, wellness, and fitness levels of special populations. Requires advanced physiological, health, and behavioral management training and the regular application of discretion and judgement in the design and modification of programs to optimally serve participants’ physical and emotional needs. Applies progressive understanding of chronic diseases to provide leadership and support to all health and wellness events for the Wellness Center programs such as Cancer Wellfit.
Responsible for all educational wellness classes as well as scheduling guest speakers, providers and physicians for various programs.
Collects, tabulates, and interprets participant outcomes data for program design and improvement purposes and to satisfy grant reporting requirements. Produces reports and briefings on programs success and plans for improvement.
