The Gallo Wine Shop is looking for people who are passionate about the work they do and wanting to get their foot in the door with E&J Gallo Winery!

Are you interested in expanding your wine knowledge while networking with Gallo employees? Are you able to work independently and simultaneously with a team? As a Wine Shop Assistant, you will grow your skillset as you learn about the company’s portfolio and obtain experience in customer service, forklift certification, warehouse operations, and wine etiquette.

What You Will Do

Customer Service:

• Demonstrate a high standard of customer service and passion for the company
• Learn RMS program to operate register
• Offer recommendations and guidance to customers in need

Build Relationships:

• You will work closely with Gallo employees to develop working relationships
• Network with customers to learn about opportunities outside of the wine shop
• Communicate with others within the organization through phone and email

Forklift Operator:

• You will be forklift certified to unload trucks and move inventory
• Build and securely wrap pallets of wine and merchandise
• Transfer pallets between warehouses and overhead storage

Daily Product Maintenance:

• Create thorough lists to stock inventory from warehouse to salesfloor
• Verify all SKUs are set up and active to be put on the salesfloor
• Upkeep shelves and case inventory

Other Duties:

• Participate in Wine Pouring’s/Tastings
• Obtain Etips Certification & Food Handler’s Card
• Operate a manual pallet jack to push/pull up to 2500 lbs

What You Will Need:

• High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience in Retail Sales, Customer Service, Hospitality, or Merchandising OR Associates Degree plus 3 years of experience in Retail Sales, Customer Service, Hospitality, or Merchandising
• 21 years of age
• Required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Required to work weekends and overtime as needed. .
• Ability to use technology applicable to the position and access information to complete daily assignments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Thrive in a fast paced environment.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation :

• Hiring Salary Range Posted: $18.13-$24.47 /hour
• Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
