- To manage a caseload, this may include service users with complex needs and provide a period of intensive engagement following initial assessment and support plan. Regularly meet with service users to provide dedicated emotional and practical support, adopting a trauma informed, non-judgemental approach to empower service users towards an independent, safe, crime free life in line with North London NHS Foundation Trusts' vision and mission
- To carry out in-depth strength based assessments, including assessment of physical and mental health needs, social and support issues.As well as triaging the service users into appropriate services, they are supported, and sometimes accompanied, to access a range of general and specialist services at other times and locations
- To work with service users and colleagues involved in the criminal justice system, this may involve those workers with appropriate clearance covering criminal justice teams' rotas
- Provide outreach support and advocacy to vulnerable residents in the Community with varying multiple complex needs and across each complexity level.
- Develop strong professional relationships and networks with local support services and advocate for the woman and vulnerable service users with external agencies, including at Housing, Social Services, Multi-disciplinary meeting and IOM panels.

- To work with service users who are in Opioid Substitute Treatment. This includes testing service users for illicit drug use, liaising with pharmacies regarding dispensing and supervised consumption, GP liaison and producing/issuing prescriptions under the supervision of a medical prescriber.
- To adhere to local safeguarding protocols to safeguard children and vulnerable adults, including the completion of safeguarding assessment tools, referrals to social services and producing reports
- To work with service users who are in Opioid Substitute Treatment. This includes testing service users for illicit drug use, liaising with pharmacies regarding dispensing and supervised consumption, GP liaison and producing/issuing prescriptions under the supervision of a medical prescriber.

- A good working knowledge of the specific health risks that those affected by substance misuse are exposed to.
- An understanding of the principles and practice of harm minimisation, and a commitment to work within the harm reduction model of practice

- An understanding and knowledge of the main psychoactive drugs used by this client group, their effects and current treatment
- An understanding of the theories and practices of safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.

Job summary
We are recruiting kind-hearted individuals with the patience and creativityto support our multi-disciplinary team in the heart of a diverse, multi-cultural and forward-thinking North London NHS Foundation Trust.
North London NHS Foundation Trust is partnered with Waythrough to provide Drug and Alcohol provisions to residents in Enfield.
This role will provide holistic, strength based one to one support, determined outreach and advocacy to vulnerable residents who have a need in substance misuse. In your role as Female Liaison worker, you will support vulnerable residents in the community, although this role is a Female Liaison worker, there will be circumstances where you will be providing services to wider communities of complex treatment needs. as well as providing Prison 'in-reach' and 'Through the Gate' support to enhance the engagement of vulnerable service users in substance misuse services and other community services, particularly those who require motivation to engage. This is a unique role that will sit within the Enfield Substance Misuse treatment system. You will be based at Enable's Enfield office and are likely to be working in the community and with relevant partner organisations.
