      About your New Career

      As the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager of Sydney Local Health District (SLHD), you will provide leadership and direction for the WHS function, including oversight, co-ordination and support of District-wide work health and safety (WHS) improvement strategies, audits and projects.

      You will engage with key stakeholders to identify potential WHS risk issues and work in collaboration to develop associated prevention strategies and related training programs. You will provide guidance and support to SLHD facility and service staff in relation to SafeWork investigations and other serious incidents, and represent SLHD at NSW Health committees, working parties and other external forums as required.

      The Ideal Candidate will have ...

      • Proven experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the health sector
      • In-depth knowledge of Australian WHS, regulations, and industry standards
      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough safety assessments
      • Strong interpersonal, influencing, written, and verbal communication skills
      • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
