- Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education
- A minimum of 4.5 CEU’S in Infant/Toddler Development Practices
- Experience coordinating and delivering direct services to preschool children
- First Aid and CPR Certified
- Knowledge of DHS Licensing Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience teaching preschool children
- Ensure the safety of all children through constant supervision
- Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children in the program, based on their individual development
- Provide weekly schedules of activities
- Communicate with families daily and through weekly newsletters
- Develop activities that introduce early math and literacy concepts
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the program along with child assessment
- Build children’s self-esteem
- Comfort children
- Encourage independence
- Observe children and make note of progress
- Establish routines and provide positive guidance
- Discuss children’s development with parents
- Participate in staff meetings, community and school activities, and professional development
- Implement a variety of hands-on, enriching activities during small and large group learning time
- Must complete “Shaken Baby” and “Infant Safe Sleep” trainings each year
- Diaper changing and working with families to master potty training for their child
Position Title: Young Preschool Lead Teacher
Location: Neff Early Childhood Center
Hours: 8:35 am - 5:05 pm / Monday through Friday
Salary & Benefits: Based on education and experience

Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to understand toddlers/preschool age children and find teaching them a pleasure. Energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork required. All candidates should have a warm and friendly presence, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy.
