      Position Title: Young Preschool Lead Teacher

      Location: Neff Early Childhood Center

      Hours: 8:35 am - 5:05 pm / Monday through Friday

      Salary & Benefits: Based on education and experience

      Qualifications:

      • Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education
      • A minimum of 4.5 CEU’S in Infant/Toddler Development Practices
      • Experience coordinating and delivering direct services to preschool children
      • First Aid and CPR Certified
      • Knowledge of DHS Licensing Requirements
      • A minimum of two years of experience teaching preschool children

      Skills and Abilities:

      Must have the ability to understand toddlers/preschool age children and find teaching them a pleasure. Energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork required. All candidates should have a warm and friendly presence, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy.

      Position Responsibilities:

      • Ensure the safety of all children through constant supervision
      • Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children in the program, based on their individual development
      • Provide weekly schedules of activities
      • Communicate with families daily and through weekly newsletters
      • Develop activities that introduce early math and literacy concepts
      • Plan, implement, and evaluate the program along with child assessment
      • Build children’s self-esteem
      • Comfort children
      • Encourage independence
      • Observe children and make note of progress
      • Establish routines and provide positive guidance
      • Discuss children’s development with parents
      • Participate in staff meetings, community and school activities, and professional development
      • Implement a variety of hands-on, enriching activities during small and large group learning time
      • Must complete “Shaken Baby” and “Infant Safe Sleep” trainings each year
      • Diaper changing and working with families to master potty training for their child
