      Salary: $56,000 -$82,000

      The Youth Outreach Specialist represents Suncoast Credit Union in the community by organizing youth outreach opportunities. This role is responsible for promoting financial literacy in cooperation with school administrators and educators throughout the local school system. An ideal candidate has strong communication skills with the ability to engage youth audiences through the development, implementation, and marketing of youth-oriented programs.

      Responsibilities

      • Identify, plan, and execute credit union programs or events for youth and young adults
      • Execute requests from teachers, youth agencies, community partners, and Suncoast employees for youth-related events
      • Coordinate the supply of youth-related promotional materials
      • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop, prepare and produce marketing materials to promote youth activities or events
      • Maintain partnerships with colleges, K12, and community partner groups
      • Represent the credit union at college and school events, partnership meetings, and youth or young adult functions
      • Deliver financial literacy presentations on credit union products and services
      • Cooperate with branch staff to develop youth-oriented events and participate in student-run branches
      • Utilize the Angel Points system for employee volunteerism, communication, staff setup, support, tracking, and reporting
      • Administer and coordinate the student-run branch program by training incoming student staff on products, processes, procedures, and operating guidelines
      • Plan school membership drives and marketing promotions
      • Recruit and train credit union personnel who support and supervise student-run branches ensuring procedures and guidelines are followed
      • Manage the materials, supplies, and equipment at student-run branches
      • Cultivate positive relationships between students, school faculty staff, and credit union employees
      • Research and propose new ways to achieve credit union financial literacy goals among youth and young adults
      • Identify products, services, and delivery channels appealing to the youth and young adult demographic
      • Promote the Suncoast Credit Union brand and youth initiatives using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
      • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
      • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or business administration (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
      • Experience developing, implementing, and marketing youth-oriented programs
      • Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
      • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
      • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult or complex problems
      • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
      • Ability to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
