Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Expert Java Developer for a hybrid position (3 days per week onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role will be responsible for helping define a target state architecture for a key trading application and creating an implementation plan. The resource will also be involved in supporting the application to ensure that it continues to meet strict performance and resiliency requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Help define a target state architecture and an implementation plan for a real-time trading application
• Support the application to ensure it continues to meet strict performance and resiliency requirements

Requirements:

• Expert-level Java developer with experience modernizing legacy applications
• Hands-on experience with real-time, distributed applications, preferably trading systems
• Experience with high-performance JAVA
• Experience with messaging applications like Kafka or AMPS
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
• Proactive and requiring limited oversight

Desired skills:

• Experience with cloud computing and containerizing applications
• An understanding of derivatives, traded products, and trading systems

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
