Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Scientist - Hybrid for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Pennington, NJ, or Plano, TX.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining document capture applications. This role requires a solid background in software engineering with experience in building Machine Learning & NLP Models and a good familiarity with Gen AI Models.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain document capture applications
• Utilize Machine Learning and NLP models to enhance application capabilities
• Work with Gen AI Models to develop innovative solutions
• Collaborate with inbound correspondence teams on development projects

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in related roles
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Deep understanding and some exposure to new Gen AI Open-source Models
• At least 5 years of programming experience in software development and Agile processes
• At least 5 years of Python (or equivalent) programming experience to work with ML/NLP models
• Experience in setting up supervised & unsupervised learning ML/NLP models including data cleaning, data analytics, feature creation, model selection & ensemble methods, performance metrics & visualization
• Experience in ML/NLP development pipelines of large data sets, both structured & unstructured
• At least 2 years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale ML/NLP solutions (e.g., Named Entity Recognition, Document Classification, Document Summarization, Topic Modelling, Dialog Systems, Sentiment Analysis, OCR text processing)
• Knowledge and hands-on experience working with OCR products

Desired skills:

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Data Science, or a related technical field
• Experience collaborating with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders from various Lines of Business
• Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership & ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight
• Critical thinker; ability to analyze problems, identify issues, and provide solutions
• Ability to navigate the enterprise & data assets across multiple functions
• Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple efforts in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
