The Billing Specialist is an integral role within the veterinary hospital, responsible for ensuring the billing accuracy of medical invoices. As a key member of the auditing team, you will audit and rectify medical invoices, maintain monthly logs, act as a subject matter expert within the unit, and serve as a backup for the business office. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment where the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Compare clinical records against medical invoices to identify missed and incorrect charges.
• Apply patient funding allocations and accurately document remaining balances.
• Partner with individual departments to resolve billing discrepancies efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain the hospital's monthly service discharge logs.
• Serve as financial backup for the business office to maintain seamless coverage.
• Act as a billing knowledge resource for other employees, students, interns, and residents to interpret, explain, and enforce billing policies throughout the hospital.
