Budget Analyst

This position is located in at Finance Service at VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. The applicant can choose one of the following as a duty location: Omaha VA Medical Center in Omaha, NE; Grand Island VA Medical Center in Grand Island, NE; OR Lincoln VA Clinic in Lincoln, NE.

A consistency review is required for this position as a result of an OPM appeal related to the occupation. This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-11. At the GS-07 and GS-09 grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-11. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds.

The Budget Analyst is responsible for applying budget analysis theory, concepts, methods and procedures connected with the budget formulation, and execution of VA's particular programs, systems, procedures, functions, and structure of the supported organizational component/facility.
