Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – Vascular Surgery

Location: Doylestown, PA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Contract Length: 8 weeks, with potential extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Interview: Microsoft Teams

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) to support a Vascular Surgery practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a specialty setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and medical histories.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
  • Collect, label, and process patient specimens.
  • Perform EKGs and injections as required.
  • Assist with patient mobility and transportation.
  • Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies.
  • Follow sterilization, infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Provide professional and compassionate patient and family support.
  • Assist with pre-certifications and other clinical/administrative duties.
  • Support training of new staff or interns when needed.
  • Participate in workflow improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • CCMA certification required.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Minimum 18 months of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Strong clinical/medical background.
  • Experience or willingness to learn vascular diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
  • EPIC/PennChart experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Must be interested in transitioning to a permanent position after the contract period.

Training

  • HIPAA training required.
  • PennChart/EMR training required prior to starting the assignment.
  • Additional role-specific training may be required.

Dress Code

  • Burgundy/Maroon scrubs
