Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, revenue and cost accounting, budget forecasts, and financial reporting

Principal Responsibilities:

• Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers
• Provides oversight of the daily operations of the department including general ledger, revenue, cost of goods and accounts payable
• Reviews the business processes and manages preparation of all financial statements and business dashboards
• Manages and implements the budgeting process and monitors and analyzes the monthly operating results against budget
• Plans and manages the year end audit
• Oversees cash management for all VNA entities and joint ventures to ensure sufficient cash is available for daily operating needs
• Manages debt financing needs with banks and investment company as needed for continued future operating needs
• Oversees grant accounting and reporting process for all federal, state and local award and ensures compliance with all grant agreement terms
• Reviews and evaluates the operating results and communicates the key financial and operational issues to senior management
• Presents financial results and budget to boards of trustees and committees
• Oversees budget process
• Ensures accounting processes and procedures are compliant with state and federal accounting and healthcare financial rules and regulations
• Supervises a team of accountants in conjunction with the organization’s managerial and leadership practices

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with CPA certification required, master’s degree a plus
• 10+ years of senior level finance or accounting experience in a health care setting, non-profit experience a plus
• Minimum three years of public accounting experience, small to medium sized firm a plus
• Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles and profitability analysis
• Ability to analyze financial data to support continuous performance improvement and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of latest health care financial technology tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively across all levels of the agency

Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Business Office Environment with phone and computer use

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $120,000 to USD $170,000. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
