DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Extensive Ansible Automation (Orchestrate system provisioning, scaling and improve code testing)
• MYSQL database administration - query optimization, replication, Systems performance tuning to maintain availability and scalability
• Release Management which will include a solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Day-to-day systems administration - user creation, systems provision troubleshooting, and monitoring
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
• Respond to emergency outages and coordinate responses with engineering teams in multiple locations
• Work with engineering teams to refine deployment and release processes
• Experience supporting high traffic high volume web applications and websites
• Willingness to work flexible / odd hours at times, based on needs, including on-call rotation

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Extensive administration knowledge with LINUX, UNIX, SSH, cron, and access control
• Experience with managed hosting and collocation
• Expert level knowledge with experience with AWS infrastructure - VPC, Security Groups, EC2, ELB, S3, RDS, etc.
• Expert level knowledge and experience with AWS API integration
• Familiarity with notification platforms like PagerDuty or OpsGenie
• Analytical thinking and troubleshooting to resolve infrastructure and/or application issues
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a passion to learn new technologies
• Solid scripting ability - Bash, Ruby, Python, PHP
• Solid understanding of DNS, TCPDUMP, CDNS, SSL, Git, Firewalls and network concepts
• Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible and YAML playbooks
• Experience with Cloud deployment tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation templates.
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
• Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus since we use Couchbase and Redis)
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment
• Experience deploying scalable web infrastructure with Apache/NGINX/PHP/PHP-FPM
• Understanding of monitoring tools and statistics – Nagios, SolarWinds, Alertsite, Newrelic, Sumologic, or CloudWatch
• Solid understanding of Docker and containers
• Ability to work in a team environment and reliable to work independently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
