Leidos Defense is seeking a talented DevSecOps Engineer to design, build, and secure the continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and deployment infrastructure supporting advanced sensor and mission systems. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy automating software pipelines, integrating automated security testing (SAST/DAST), and optimizing development infrastructure today, while growing into broader system-level deployment and real-time infrastructure architecture over time. Primary Responsibilities:

Candidate will support advanced technology radar programs by automating, securing, and maintaining the infrastructure that compiles, tests, and deploys high-performance sensor and data processing applications. These systems are tightly coupled with real-time data pipelines and hardware, requiring a strong understanding of performant build systems, Linux optimization, and secure infrastructure.

Engineers in this role are expected to grow into broader pipeline and infrastructure ownership over time, contributing across application build management, automated security compliance, and deployment frameworks.

• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment environments for modern C++ applications.
• Integrate and manage automated security tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and container vulnerability scanning) into the development lifecycle.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Collaborate closely with software, systems, and hardware engineers to optimize software compilation times, build scalability, and deployment reliability.
• Support software integration and deployment in operational, simulated, and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing environments.
• Enforce cybersecurity compliance and hardening guidelines (such as DISA STIGs) across Linux-based development and runtime environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build failures, environment disparities, and pipeline bottlenecks to ensure high developer velocity.

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited school with a strong demonstration of the skills listed below.
• Candidate must have 2+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or Software Engineering with a heavy focus on infrastructure and pipeline automation.
• Candidate must have excellent teamwork skills and possess strong fundamentals in the following:
• Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Proficiency in Linux-based environments, including advanced shell scripting, system administration, and performance tuning.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and orchestration tools.
• Strong experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation task development.
• Familiarity with building and packaging compiled languages, specifically modern C++ applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
• US Citizenship is required and ability to obtain and maintain and DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate with additional skills in the following is preferred:

• Experience implementing automated security testing (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Nexus/Artifactory scanning tools).
• Exposure to radar, RF, or sensor systems and deploying software to hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with distributed applications or messaging frameworks (e.g., ZeroMQ).
• Experience supporting web applications built with Angular TS, Flask, and SQL-based databases.
• Knowledge of military cybersecurity standards or framework hardening (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, Risk Management Framework / RMF).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00
