Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to support the U.S. Army's PAE Fires IT Support Services program at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This position provides technical leadership in designing, integrating, securing, and modernizing enterprise IT infrastructure and applications supporting mission-critical operations.

The Senior Enterprise Architect collaborates with Government stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure engineers, and application developers to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise solutions aligned with Army and DoD requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture designs, technical documentation, and modernization recommendations.
  • Provide architecture expertise for VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, virtual desktop infrastructure, Red Hat OpenShift, and Kubernetes environments.
  • Evaluate enterprise infrastructure, networks, storage, applications, and system integrations to improve performance, interoperability, and reliability.
  • Integrate cybersecurity requirements into architecture designs and support Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization activities.
  • Support application modernization, digital transformation, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives involving technologies such as MagicDraw, DOORS, and Windchill.
  • Develop architecture recommendations supporting high availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations.
  • Coordinate with Government leadership and technical teams to assess requirements, resolve architectural issues, and manage technical risks.
  • Prepare architecture diagrams, technical assessments, design documentation, and recommendations supporting Government decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or IT infrastructure experience.
  • Extensive experience with VMware configuration, management, and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and enterprise container platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise networking, storage, infrastructure integration, and high-availability solutions.
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, NIST security controls, and secure architecture principles.
  • Experience developing technical architecture documentation and communicating recommendations to technical and Government stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet applicable DoD 8140 workforce qualification requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting U.S. Army or DoD enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience with classified networks and mission-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation, enterprise backup and recovery, and disaster recovery architectures.
  • Familiarity with MBSE tools, including MagicDraw, DOORS, and Windchill.
  • Relevant enterprise architecture, VMware, Red Hat, or cybersecurity certifications.

Work Environment

This position is primarily on-site at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an eight-hour workday. Mission requirements may involve authorized after-hours support.
