Job Summary

The Financial Analyst III is responsible for leading financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, financial modeling, and decision support. This role provides financial insight for strategic initiatives and capital investments, presents findings to senior leadership and board committees, and mentors Financial Analyst I and II team members.

Essential Functions

• Lead the development of entity or system-wide budgets and multi-year financial forecasts.
• Design and oversee cost accounting methodologies and decision support tools.
• Prepare comprehensive proformas for major capital investments and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct in-depth financial modeling and scenario analysis to support executive decision-making.
• Present financial findings and recommendations to senior leadership and board committees.
• Mentor and train Financial Analyst I and II team members and lead special projects.
• Maintain compliance with required safety training and organizational safety standards.
• Promote positive customer relations by responding promptly to customer needs, managing difficult situations, soliciting feedback, and following through on commitments.
• Foster a sense of urgency and maintain a high level of productivity while meeting organizational goals.
• Take initiative and independent action to identify and resolve problems.
• Support a culture where employees can safely give and receive feedback.
• Communicate the reasons behind decisions and help others adapt to organizational change.
• Work collaboratively as a team player while taking personal responsibility for decisions, actions, successes, and failures.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, modeling, capital planning, and advanced analytics.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables; Microsoft Word and PowerPoint proficiency preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with indirect supervision and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate on detailed work for extended periods.
• Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and work extended hours when necessary.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support team members.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Preferred: Master's degree.

Experience

Required: Minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial analysis, preferably within a healthcare environment.
