Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support)

About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Assist customers with resolving technical problems.
• Provide support for customers personal devices.
• Provide on-site assistance in the imaging, installation, maintenance and operation of personal computer systems for users.
• Assist system administrators and network operations personnel concerning Local Area Network (LAN) troubleshooting.
• Perform system administration tasks for tracking of all computer related equipment.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position require the incumbent to satisfactorily complete the Security Plus certification within 6 months of employment and maintain the required certification/recertification.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 40 pounds is required.
