The Inventory Control Specialist manages, moves, and organizes inventory between storage areas, production lines, and loading docks while maintaining high levels of accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency. In this role, you support warehouse operations by safely and efficiently handling materials, ensuring products and raw materials are properly received, stored, and delivered to maintain smooth workflows and timely production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage, move, and organize inventory between storage areas, production lines, and loading docks with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Unload shipments from trucks, carefully handling fragile or large items and placing them in designated storage areas.
• Transport inventory to storage locations or prepare products for shipment, ensuring proper labeling, stacking, and protection from damage.
• Inspect products during unloading to identify shortages, damages, or defects and report any issues immediately to supervisors.
• Deliver raw materials to production stations to support continuous production and maintain on-time schedules.
• Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and other warehouse equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Keep accurate records of inventory movement, forklift use, and other warehouse activities to support precise inventory control.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA regulations to maintain a secure, clean, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet operational goals and ensure timely shipment of products.
• Stand for extended periods and regularly lift items weighing up to 75 lbs while performing daily tasks.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery frequently and handle heavy items using safe manual handling techniques.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment and safe material handling techniques.
• Strong attention to detail for inspecting materials and maintaining accuracy in tasks and records.
• Physical stamina and coordination to safely lift, move, and operate equipment, including items up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Forklift certification.
• Understanding of safety procedures and OSHA regulations to maintain a secure workplace.
• Experience with inventory handling, including parts inventory.
• Customer service mindset to support internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in warehouse, distribution center, or logistics operations.
• Familiarity with automotive or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working with inventory control processes and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to achieve operational goals.

Work Environment

You will work inside a newer automotive manufacturing facility that operates as a warehouse and distribution environment, with potential exposure to varying temperatures. This role follows an A-shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The position involves frequent operation of forklifts and other warehouse machinery, extended periods of standing, and manual handling of heavy items. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, safety vests, and steel-toed boots, is required to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $47840.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
