PURPOSE/SCOPE: Experienced Inventory Control Specialist is a key role for executing Cycle Counting Processes to ensure proper counting of inventory. This position will assist the Inventory Analyst in the implementation and execution of a formal audit program related to Inventory Movements for Itegrity and Accuracy. This will be done by monitoring and maintaining the integrity of warehouse inventory and storage locations through analysis, reporting, and corrective action of inventory variances. The intended outcome is having the right parts in the right location in the right quantity to satisfy customer demand and financial (SOX) compliance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ​​Manage and complete cycle count process.
  • ​Assist with reconciling inventory differences and root cause reason.​
  • Identify irregularities in daily operational processes that create inventory issues.
  • Complete bin checks as needed
  • Work in tandem with the Receiving, Shipping, Warehouse, Production, Purchasing & Accounting teams and maintain flexible attitude supporting all stated objectives.
  • Recognize and escalate inventory and storage issues
  • Assist in providing timely and appropriate reporting of investigation, requested metrics, and KPIs.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and stock ready condition of bin locations
  • General continuous improvement/5S.
  • Intermediate level of involvement in lean/continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as determined by supervisor/management team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma OR GED required; some college preferred.
  • 1 year distribution or manufacturing experience minimum
  • 2 years Inventory Control experience preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing initiatives preferred.
  • 2 years SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
  • Excellent Attendance to support this critical process
  • Ability to take direction and accept supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.

WORK SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently and in a group environment.
  • Ability to perform inventory transactions through use of a computer system.
  • Previous computer skills such as email, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Must be forklift certified pursuant to OSHA requirements

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must regularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to walk, talk and hear
  • The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a valid license to operate fork lifts of various types.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSTURES:

  • Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes
  • Moderate noise level

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, safety shoes at all times.

Total Compensation = Pay range + Benefits

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Sales and Service Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. The salary range reflects both entry into the role and future growth. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
