Work Location

This position is only eligible for in office/branch work arrangements at the Eugene/Springfield branches.

Compensation

• Base Salary:
  • Investment Associate: The full salary range for the Investment Associate position is $22.00 to $31.15 per hour, with new hires generally starting between $23.55 to $26.60 per hour, based on relevant knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
  • Registered Investment Associate: The full salary range for the Registered Investment Associate position is $24.20 to $34.30 per hour, with new hires generally starting between $25.85 to $29.25 per hour, based on relevant knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
• Annual Incentive: In addition, all SELCO team members receive an annual incentive based on how well SELCO meets the prior year’s strategic business goals. This incentive is calculated using the team member’s prior year eligible earnings and ranges from 0%-12% (with the average payout over the last five years being 11.07%).

Position Overview

The Investment Associate provides administrative support to SELCO Investment and Retirement Services and Investment Advisors. Develops and supports client financial relationships with SELCO members utilizing non-deposit investment products including, but not limited to, securities and insurance.

Position-specific Essential Functions

1. Provide administrative support including answering calls, greeting and directing customers, distributing mail, ordering office supplies, and scheduling appointments.
2. Facilitate and coordinate communications with clients, investment companies, and co-workers.
3. Service client accounts including updating client information, assisting with withdrawal requests and other client forms, processing trade documents, responding to client inquires, re-registering investment accounts.
4. Review all trade confirmations for accuracy and completion.
5. Assist and maintain an accurate referral queue.
6. Assist in the organization of SELCO Investment and Retirement Services’ webinars and other marketing related activities including, overseeing seminar registration, ordering seminar supplies and materials, setting up event space, greeting attendees, and maintaining referral program.
7. Assist with department-related projects and special assignments, as requested.

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent; and
2. Bachelor’s degree in business-related field or equivalent related experience; and
3. Investment experience preferred; and
4. Must be bondable; and
5. Must obtain the following within a specified period of time as outlined by management:
   1. Valid Oregon Insurance Life and Health License; typically within a four (4) week period
   2. Valid Securities Industry Essentials License; typically within a four (4) week period
   3. FINRA Registered Series 7; typically within an eight (8) week period
   4. FINRA Registered Series 63 and 65, or 66; typically within a five (5) week period
   5. Oregon Insurance Variable Lines License.

Physical Demands

While performing the job duties, approximately 85% of the time is spent stationary, with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to lift and transport up to 5 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment, and supplies.

Interaction and Work Environment

Reports to: Director of SELCO Investment and Retirement Services/Investment Consultant

Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with background noise.
