About this job

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join a large-scale Consumer Banking modernization initiative. The team will initially support the lift-and-shift of existing applications, followed by broader modernization efforts.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Java development experience and the ability to work across the technology stack, including databases, application configuration, deployments, and frontend technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
  • Develop scalable backend services supporting consumer banking and credit-related workflows.
  • Participate in application lift-and-shift and modernization initiatives.
  • Work closely with UI, ETL, database, and platform engineering teams.
  • Develop integrations with relational databases and enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and support production deployments.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and testing activities.
  • Support application configuration and deployment activities.
  • Ensure solutions meet requirements for data accuracy, compliance, auditability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and enterprise application development.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Experience working with relational databases and Oracle.
  • Experience developing APIs and application integrations.
  • Experience with application deployment and configuration.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Angular or other modern frontend technologies.
  • Full-stack development experience.
  • Experience with Camunda or workflow/process orchestration platforms.
  • Experience with ETL/data processing environments.
  • Experience supporting application modernization or migration initiatives.
  • Financial services or consumer banking experience.

Location

Charlotte, NC – 5 days onsite preferred/expected.

Experience Level

Multiple levels may be considered, including Mid-Level, Senior, and Lead Java Engineers.
