      The 3D Art Lab at Ruffin is seeking a project-specific intern to prepare and fabricate 3-D modeled objects for an upcoming exhibit at the Dumbarton Oaks Museum in Washington, D.C. The intern should be a full-time undergraduate student with a demonstrated interest in Byzantine or Mediterranean Diaspora culture. A student with a declared or intended major in Art History or Archaeology is preferred for this position.

      The internship offers 80 total hours of work at $15 per hour during the fall and spring semesters, scheduling flexible. The student should be willing to assist with 3D modeling, fabrication including large scale routing and prop finishing, and various aspects of 3D printing and post-processing. 3D software experience appreciated, but not required, and on-the-job training will be provided for all machines.

      The internship will include an expenses-paid trip to Dumbarton Oaks to view the completed exhibit during spring 2025.

      • Declared Art History or Archaeology Majors preferred
      • Work-study eligible preferred
      • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and can work effectively with colleagues and the general public.

      Anticipated Compensation: $15.00 Hourly

      Anticipated Assignment Dates: August 27, 2024 to May 9, 2025

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Current undergrad UVA student Experience: None Licensure: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
