What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Direct the search and cataloguing of abandoned/inactive mines in the state
- Create and develop reports on each abandoned mine site, including map reading and report writing
- Work with contractors to review and implement plans for closure/securing of abandoned mines
- Maintain and update the database of abandoned mine reports
- Conduct investigations on abandoned mine complaints

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in fields under the jurisdiction of the AZ State Mine Inspector
- Ability to drive a 4-wheel vehicle and create scope of work plans for mine closure
- Knowledge of basic mapping techniques and environmental effects of mining operations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various stakeholders

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in directing the search and cataloguing of abandoned/inactive mines
- Knowledge of geographical location systems in Arizona
