Account Executive – Insurance and Captive Management (Barbados) Reporting to the Managing Director, Vice President and Assistant Vice President, the AE manages a portfolio of captive insurance companies and has the responsibility for the preparation of management financial statements for several captive insurance companies and coordination of the year-end audit of these companies. The AE will require a high level of interaction with outside agencies and client supervisors, thus excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. In some cases, the AE will be responsible to act as the primary contact for captive clients. Specific Responsibilities Providing accounting services to a portfolio of captive insurance companies; Preparation of monthly / quarterly management financial statements and management reports; Recording of premiums, claims, and reserves Coordinating financial statement audits; Preparing for and attending board meetings, presenting financial results and key information to Board of Directors; Preparing financial forecasts and budgets; Reviewing and authorizing payments; Analysis and recommendation on complex financial transactions; Participating in ad-hoc projects as assigned; Develop & maintain strong internal & external client relationships; Ensure effective and responsive communication with Captive team; Comply with regulatory and other standards as directed by Management; Follow internal Aon procedures regarding client and counterparty screening for all transactions; Utilize DocuSign and payments dashboard to manage data flow; and Ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned Qualifications and Experience A professional accounting designation CA, CPA, ACA or ACCA is required. Previous accounting experience in captive insurance or reinsurance, experience in the international insurance industry or in the audits of such entities would be advantageous. The ability to work independently to meet strict reporting deadlines. Team oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards, US and Canadian GAAP would be advantageous. Being highly organized and proficient with MS Office applications.
