      Why this role is important?

      The Account Executive, Business Development will be part of the Health Solutions Business Development and Account Management team, reporting to the Sr. Director, Business Development and Account Management.

      Responsible for the profitable management of a portfolio of Health Solutions clients, maintain and strengthen relationships with consultants/advisors, and work closely with them to ensure client satisfaction. This position will require you to meet annual financial, growth and profitability objectives for your assigned block of business.

      Capitalizing on sound industry knowledge, the Health Solutions Account Executive will develop and grow existing client and consultant/advisor relationships by delivering superior service, effectively communicate Health Solutions’ value proposition products/services and represent Health Solutions professionally in client-facing meetings. You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Health Solutions products, services, and workflows.

      Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, and a passion for doing presentations and leading client meetings are a must to be successful in this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding negotiation/influencing skills and the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal stakeholders.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Build & execute targeted retention and profit margin plan for key market segments to accomplish performance objectives
      • Partner with Insurance Carriers, Plan Sponsors, advisors, and benefits consultants supporting sales acquisition activities for Health Solutions products
      • Lead relationship management activities and build product awareness with insurance carriers, benefits consultants/ advisors and plan sponsors, and other partners as appropriate;
      • Develop comprehensive customer segmentation and prioritization strategies that are aligned to key market trends and conditions;
      • Maintain & update available CRM database (as well as other creative networking sources) to target key stakeholders within potential plan sponsors;
      • Support inquiries and business opportunities through presentations, RFP responses and submissions, other mechanisms – including agreement negotiations;
      • Partner closely with Product Development to provide market insights to be incorporated into the development of new programs and services;
      • Work closely with implementation / client success manager(s) to ensure client satisfaction and retention
      • Create and manage opportunity pipeline, focused on growth of inforce book of business
      • Manage client renewals
      • Represent Shoppers Drug Mart at industry conferences, external presentations as required

      Qualifications:

      This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment in order to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects.

      • 7+ years of business-to-business relationship development experience in the group benefits business space (ideally including drug plan management and other key Health & Wellness product/ service offerings);
      • University degree in business, pharmacy or other analytical field;
      • Proven leadership, client relationship management and customer service skills;
      • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills including facilitation of meetings;
      • Strong analytic, problem solving, and decision making skills to effectively assess viability of prospective business opportunities;
      • Must be strategic, have a good professional presence, and possess strong planning and organizational skills;
      • Delivers results in a high-pressure environment with the ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines;
      • Quick learner: ability to rapidly assimilate new concepts and idea, and willingness to learn;
      • Entrepreneurial qualities and tenaciousness;
      • Hybrid work schedule requiring 3 days onsite per week unless attending external meetings/conferences
      • Valid driver’s license required
      • Travel will be required
