      In Group Benefits, we serve more than 5 million Canadians - plan members and their dependents - through our more than 11,000 group benefit plans across the country. Our customers include employees, associations, affinity groups and creditors in virtually every industry in Canada, and we're proud to be their benefits provider.

      Role Summary:

      The Account Executive is responsible for the profitable management of a portfolio of clients in the Montreal Business Development office. There are annual new business, retention/growth and profitability targets for this role.

      What will you do?

      • Key Sun Life contact for clients, responsible for the overall client relationship with Sun Life

      • Responsible for the growth and profitability of an assigned block of business in group insurance benefit plans

      • Manages the relationship with advisors of his /her assigned clients

      • Ensures client/advisor needs are met through the delivery of value-added products and services

      What do you need to succeed?

      • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

      • Extensive experience (7 to 10 years) in group insurance benefit plans (sales, underwriting or consulting)

      • Experience working with clients and executives within the client organization as well as with group insurance benefit plan advisors

      • Knowledge of group insurance benefit plan design including flexible benefit plans, underwriting and financial management, technology and Internet applications, benefit and plan taxation, communications and administration procedures, claims practices, government legislation and current developments in the benefits field

      • Integrity, customer focus, strong leadership skills and the ability to work successfully in a team environment

      • Strong understanding of client needs and ability find solutions that satisfy concerns of all parties

      • Strong negotiation, analytical and influencing skills

      • Self-starter and results oriented

      • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, and be adept at project management and handling of multiple priorities

      Notes/Unique Requirements:

      • Group Insurance Licence issued by La Chambre de Sécurité Financière du Québec or a Fellowship designation from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and/or the Society of Actuaries

      The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
