      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Lead the preparation and coordination of annual financial statements, including GASB reconciliations
      - Research and implement new GASB pronouncements and develop policies for compliance
      - Provide leadership and training to accounting staff, resolving technical issues and mentoring subordinates
      - Prepare sections of the County's Official Statement for bond issuance and related financial statements
      - Maintain and review financial ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field
      - Minimum of four (4) years of professional accounting experience
      - Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP and GASB
      - Ability to lead projects and exercise independent judgment in complex situations
      - Proficient in desktop computer applications for accounting functions

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Prior professional accounting experience in a governmental agency
      - Possession of professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CIA
      - Experience with municipal accounting practices and procedures
      - Strong analytical skills and experience in developing accounting policies
      - Familiarity with Washington State Budgeting, Accounting, and Reporting System (BARS)
