What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the General Accounting and Accounts Payable teams
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while developing and implementing fiscal policies
- Oversee operations and analysis for accounts payable, including travel accounting and general accounting
- Act as the agency expert and policy advisor on various financial processes and procedures
- Lead business process improvement efforts and provide consultation and training to agency leadership
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in two (2) or more of the following areas: research, policy analysis, business analysis, business operations management, or supervising
- Direct experience with state government accounting, budget, payroll, human resources, and timekeeping processes
- Skills in conducting business analysis and developing requirements
- Ability to manage organizational change efforts
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Skills and experience in presenting training classes
- Two years’ experience in accounts payable, general accounting, or travel accounting
- Experience with statewide systems including the Enterprise Contract Management System (ECMS) and the Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS)
