What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide administrative support to the Accounting Division Director and assist the Chief Accountant
- Advise on accounting systems and participate in strategic planning for the Bureau
- Manage special projects related to accounting and financial reporting
- Assist with the preparation of financial and managerial reports
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and standards in accounting practices
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in accounting or auditing
- At least two years of experience equivalent to an Accountant P11, Auditor P11, or Assistant Auditor General P11
- One year of experience equivalent to an Accountant 12, Auditor 12, or Assistant Auditor General 12
- Official transcripts required to verify educational qualifications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification
- Experience with SIGMA accounting systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Knowledge of state financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Previous experience in a government accounting role
