      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Process special payments such as tax-exempt bond funds, debt service, and state grants
      - Enforce statutory, regulatory, and accounting provisions mandated by state and federal law
      - Facilitate state grant programs for payment to municipalities and non-profit organizations
      - Maintain financial records and assist with processing transactions in Core-CT
      - Develop manuals, provide training to other state agencies' business office staff, and create complex reports

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Eight years of experience in accounting or auditing
      - One year of experience performing complex accounting functions or acting in a consultative capacity as an Associate Accountant
      - Considerable knowledge of professional accounting and auditing principles, governmental accounting, and budgeting
      - Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
      - Ability to evaluate and analyze accounting forms, methods, and procedures

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Software, specifically Excel, Access, and VBA
      - Understanding of process improvement and creating new procedures
      - Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse population
      - Experience with Adobe Acrobat to develop and administer fillable forms
