What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare internal and external reports and analyses in support of the employer's mission
- Create reports using Excel, SQL, and Tableau, employing statistical or risk-adjusted procedures
- Respond to underwriting requests for proposals and price basic benefits
- Analyze Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) models for large agencies
- Maintain accurate documentation of work processes and ensure confidentiality
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree with a strong emphasis in mathematics, economics, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field
- Passed at least one (1) Society of Actuaries exam for Actuarial Analyst I; three (3) exams for II; and five (5) exams for III
- Relevant actuarial experience: at least one (1) year for Actuarial Analyst II; two (2) years for III
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent mathematical skills and ability to apply statistical concepts in practical situations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Relevant internship experience in an actuarial or quantitative field
- Experience in Tableau and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
- Effective communication skills for interpreting technical studies and drafting correspondence
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
