Process claims as directed by a manager.
Research and identify potential fraud.
Provide any additional support requested by your manager.
Assist walk-ins with claims as requested.
Answer and return phone calls, emails and mail requests in a timely fashion.
Help plan, set up and staff Great Iowa Treasure Hunt outreach events as requested by your manager.
Propose ideas to outreach team to improve reach of programs.
Complete any other duties as assigned from your manager or the Treasurer to support the Treasurer's Office mission and goals.
Provide backup as needed by any area of the office as directed by a manager.
Actively participate in claims team regular meetings. Assist team members with questions/problems and make contributions to team challenges.
Actively participate in your assigned Treasury team. Accept team challenges and contribute to the final recommendation created by the team.

The Office has an immediate opening for a self-motivated and team-oriented professional to assist our Great Iowa Treasure Hunt (GITH) team as a claim’s processor.
This is a temporary, non-merit and non-contract position that offers benefits. The position will last until at least May 2026 - with the possibility of being hired full-time if a position becomes available . This position is designed to be entry level and starting at the beginning range of the salary scale.
The ideal candidate must be willing to learn and be comfortable with new computer systems. The successful candidate will possess a willingness to learn, be adaptable and have good analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are necessary. A successful candidate will work with the public in person, on the phone and via email/mail. Must be self-motivated and team oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks.
Who We Are
The State Treasurer’s Office acts as the State’s banker for State agencies. As part of that role, Treasury staff provide customer service to other State agencies and the public. The Office also oversees many consumer programs, such as the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt, the ISave 529 plan and the IAble plan.

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, some nights and weekends
This position will require a presence in the Office on a regular basis. There will be a potential option for some remote work once on-boarding and training have been completed, but this is not a fulltime remote work position.
