      ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

      FACULTY OF HEALTH

      NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health Studies as a casual Administrative Assistant.

      Reporting to the Team Lead, Business Planning, the casual Administrative Assistant role provides administrative and operational assistance within the Faculty of Health Studies Division on an as needed basis. This role must communicate directly with students answering inquires in a timely and professional manner. They will succeed by supporting staff and faculty with activities following the NorQuest College policies and procedure manual, and as such, must have a strong understanding of business administration. This role may take on a variety of tasks depending on scheduling needs, current projects and grant funding, including anything from occasional hours per month to project work in a full-time capacity for several months. Flexibility and availability are key attributes of this role.

      HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

      • Provide frontline customer service to students in a timely and courteous manner.
      • Problem solve customer queries.
      • Meet required customer service standards in all tasks.
      • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a positive relationship building manner.
      • Assist with electronic and paper records management.
      • Complete ad-hoc room and audio-visual equipment bookings.
      • Assist with curriculum updates using Moodle, templates, and spreadsheets.
      • Support coordination of events such as professional development activities.
      • Support the administration of instructor surveys to students.
      • Prepare student orientation packages.
      • Provide administrative support using office equipment, word processing tools, and databases.
      • Create meeting minutes, agendas, and supporting materials.
      • Complete purchase order requests as needed.
      • Prepare and distribute mail.
      • Provide recommendations for improvements to administrative procedures.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      WHAT YOU BRING

      • A Business or Administration degree is preferred. Consideration may be given to those with a Business or Administration Diploma, Administrative Professional Certificate and/or considerable relevant experience.
      • 3+ years directly related experience in a post-secondary environment or similarly complex portfolio.
      • Experience working with PeopleSoft and Moodle is required.

      SALARY: $22.00-$27.57 hourly reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. We are looking for 8 casual positions which also includes 11.2% in lieu of vacation and benefits.
