      Location Information: Manatee Regional Juvenile Detention Center; 1803 5th Street W., Bradenton, FL 34205

      Minimum Biweekly Rate of Pay: $1,420.00 Bi-Weekly/$17.75 Hourly (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

      POSITION DESCRIPTION :

      This position is located in a detention facility and handles facility level personnel and fiscal matters.

      Performs and prepares all related Human Resources processes for the facility, to include recruitment, employment packets selected to include the processes of required screenings to ensure adequate staffing of facility in accordance with the departmental and regional office procedures, and in accordance with Florida Statutes.

      Prepares and submits all facility purchase requisitions, reviews, audits and processes all accounts payable documents, to include, but not limited to purchase order receiving reports, budget, non-purchase order receipts, and travel in accordance with the departmental and regional office procedures, and in accordance with Florida Statutes. Shares the responsibility of the National School Lunch.

      Prepares and maintains employee files, organizational charts, tracking systems, vendor files and account ledgers, ensures current information. Performs special assignments, research and report preparation.

      Prepares and completes the ordering and inventories of janitorial, detention clothing, office supplies, staff uniforms office supplies food kitchen equipment and furniture.

      Maintains current information of policies, programs and processes for personnel and fiscal related issues. Disseminates related information to administration and staff. Handles facility payroll-related and attendance and

      leave functions, workers -comp and orients new employees.

      Responds to requests for fiscal and personnel-related information; and acts as a liaison between the facility and the Regional Office.

      Processes a variety of correspondence, investigates relevant subject matter, and prepares responses. Performs administrative support functions for facility administration as directed to include assisting in daily administrative activities, special assignments or activities.

      Performs other related duties as required.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

      Knowledge of personnel rules, policies, and procedures.

      Ability to:

      Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

      Prioritize workload.

      Plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

      Develop various reports.

      Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

      Communicate effectively.

      Handle confidential information.

      Computer skills.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

      One year of Fiscal experience.

      One year of Human Resources experience.

      SPECIAL NOTES :

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
