      Scottsdale Housing and Community Assistance Office is seeking a motivated and collaborative professional to join our team as an Administrative Assistant in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our office administers federal grants received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service to our clients and deliver reliable administrative support to our team.

      About the position:
      Provides administrative assistance and support to management. Performs a broad range of administrative functions and assignments involving independent judgment and initiative.

      Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $28.69/hour

      Education and Experience

      • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent is required.
      • Three years of experience in administrative support.
      • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

      Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements

      • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

      Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:

      • Researches and responds to citizen requests in person or by phone in accordance with City policies and regulations. Composes original correspondence.
      • Maintains documentation, statistical reports and project logs to document work procedures and monitor follow-up.
      • Greets visitors, screens and responds to incoming mail, e-mails, telephone calls, and voice mails for Executive Director, Administrator and/or Director.
      • Composes written documents and correspondence with the highest quality requiring independent judgment in handling format, procedure and context.
      • Responds to sensitive requests for information that may involve confidential matters.
      • Operates a computer and utilizes relevant software applications.
      • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
      • Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy and fax machines requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement.
      • Travel to/from meetings and various locations.
      • Attend evening meetings as needed.
