      Position Description:

      The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world's leading research center’s in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care.

      The Finance Department is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Administrative Assistant. Reporting directly to the Manager Finance, the successful candidate will be required to provide assistance on a wide range of confidential organizational, and program related projects and issues. You will provide administrative assistance to Directors. Additional administrative duties may include organizing and maintaining filing systems and the OCR mailboxes, scanning invoices, preparing bank deposits, updating databases and other duties as assigned by the manager. External stakeholders and working with people and systems within and outside of CAMH. The successful candidate will be creative, be an excellent multi-tasker and will support a workplace that embraces diversity and encourages teamwork. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.

      Qualifications:

      The successful candidate will have a post-secondary diploma in office administration or related discipline combined with 5 years of senior level administrative experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience in the healthcare or academic sectors is preferred. The successful candidate will have experience dealing with the public, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, superior interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate sound judgment, tact and courtesy. This position requires confidentiality, initiative and mature and independent judgment. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, particularly while multi-tasking in high-pressure situations and dealing with conflicting priorities. The successful candidate should be flexible and adaptable with regard to the types of tasks assigned and be willing to work as a team player. You will work as part of an interprofessional team. Proficiency in the use of computer databases and software applications, including Microsoft Office, is essential. Previous experience in a research environment in mental health and addictions is an asset. Bilingualism (English/ French) is considered an asset.

      Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

      Please note: This full-time, permanent position is NOT part of any bargaining unit.
