      The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant with three (3) years or more experience conducting front desk duties and providing excellent customer service to support the Developmental Services Supportive Living Program (SLP).

      Duties:

      • Assist in the development of all chart forms and other supervisory forms used by SLP units.
      • Maintain the directory for all SLP forms.
      • Collect and submit all quality assurance data and residential program service fee billing.
      • Type correspondence, interoffice forms, requisitions, and related documents.
      • Prepare and reply to correspondence from brief dictated notes or on own initiative.
      • Establish and maintain cross-reference files and establish file categories.
      • Screen visitors, telephone calls, and incoming mail, personally answering those inquiries which in the employee's judgment do not require the supervisor's attention.
      • Prepare requisitions, vouchers, and other data.
      • Receive and issue receipts for monetary transactions.
      • Distribute and review work prepared by clerical subordinates for form, accuracy, and adherence to office policy.
      • Monitor budget expenditures as needed.
      • Coordinate information sent out to other city departments and outside agencies.
      • Operate office equipment.
      • Act as USAM for unit.
