      The Resource Management and Information Division of the Fiscal Affairs Department (FADRM) is seeking to fill an Administrative Coordinator staff vacancy within its Operations team.

      Since 1964, the Fiscal Affairs Department (FAD) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has provided expertise on fiscal policy and management. FAD monitors and analyzes global fiscal trends, advises IMF member countries on fiscal issues, and contributes to the design and implementation of IMF-supported programs. Building on its extensive analytical work, FAD provides capacity development (CD) to enhance fiscal performance and strengthen fiscal institutions of IMF member countries across advanced, emerging, and low-income economies.

      FADRM oversees the financial and administrative management of the department, support initiatives related to CD strategy and management, develop tools and processes to improve productivity and efficiency, and coordinate initiatives to leverage FAD’s unique information and knowledge assets.

      Under the coordination of the FADRM Operations team leaders, the administrative coordinator will provide operational and administrative support to the department's CD activities. They will be part of the team supporting the organization of missions by divisions, and the administration of the fiscal expert roster. Tasks and duties include:

      • Providing guidance and support on questions concerning the Fund's policies and procedures relevant to CD work and expert administration.

      • Supporting a team of project managers in the execution of their CD activities using the Capacity Development Management and Administration (CDMAP) system, including advising on data quality actions and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

      • Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of mission travel information in the Travel Information Management System (TIMS)

      • Implementing procedures for recruiting and contracting of experts, processing travel authorizations and security clearances, and ensuring compliance with the travel policy, in coordination with other relevant departments (Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Services)

      • Working with the Budget and Technical Assistance Officers to provide relevant data and analysis relating to CD and budget.

      • Contributing to updating guidelines/notes, including the Short -Term Expert Handbook and FAD CD Manual, to keep pace with changes in policies, procedures, and systems.

      • Carrying out ad hoc projects as requested by the Division management.

      Qualifications

      Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by a minimum of six years of relevant experience, is required. External candidates must have spent at least two of the six required years of experience in a lead role.

      In addition to the above, the successful candidate should meet the following qualifications and competencies:

      • High level of planning, organization, and multitasking skills as well as ability to prioritize tasks.

      • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with Fund staff and external contacts at all levels.

      • Knowledge of enterprise systems (such as PeopleSoft or Workday) and advanced Excel functions.

      • Ability to work independently and as a team member, learn quickly, and work under tight deadlines.

      • Sound judgment and effective interpersonal skills,

      • Demonstrated ability to learn modern technology quickly and effectively use it for maximum productivity.

      • Client-focused personality and dedicated team player with strong problem-solving skills, creativity, initiative, and attention to detail.

      In addition, candidates are expected to demonstrate a deep knowledge of CDMAP functionalities and other applications supporting the Fund’s administration and management.

      Only candidates who are currently residing in the Washington DC metro area will be considered.

      This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.

      A regular staff member who is selected to fill the vacancy will maintain their open-ended status. If the selected candidate is a contractual employee, they will be offered a Term staff appointment. Staff members already on a term appointment will continue their current term but may receive an extension provided that their current term appointment has not already been extended.
