      Bring your case management expertise to this unique opportunity with the Civil Resolution Tribunal!

      The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) is an independent entity that operates under the authority of the Civil Resolution Tribunal Act. The CRT is Canada’s first online tribunal and currently provides end-to-end dispute resolution services for disputes involving strata property, incorporated societies and co-operative associations, small claims up to $5,000 and motor vehicle personal injury disputes. The CRT encourages a collaborative, problem-solving approach to dispute resolution, rather than the traditional courtroom model by providing timely access to legal information, self-help tools, and dispute resolution services to help solve disputes as early as possible.

      The Case Manager is a key point of contact with disputants and is critical to the CRT’s mandate to improve access to justice and to minimize operating costs by focusing disputants on early resolution of disputes and avoiding costly hearings. The CRT Case Manager has a statutory role to support the CRT in the resolution of the disputes within its jurisdiction by:
      a) assisting the parties in reaching resolution by agreement through negotiation and facilitated settlement discussions;
      b) reviewing the claims in a dispute and assisting the parties in identifying the facts relevant to resolving the dispute and the issues to be decided if the dispute is to be resolved by adjudication and confirming that the appropriate parties are named;
      c) providing a neutral, non-binding evaluation where appropriate;
      d) preparing the parties for adjudication, and
      e) making a recommendation to the tribunal as to the process to be used in hearing a dispute.

      The Case Manager performs these responsibilities primarily through an online process that involves high volumes of disputes and tight deadlines, while complying with the Civil Resolution Tribunal Act and Insurance (Motor Vehicle) Act and principles of administrative law.
