      AltaGas - Sr Manager, Vendor Audit

      As the Sr. Manager of Vendor Audit, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and effectiveness of our organization's vendor relationships and associated processes. You will be the lead in assessing vendor performance, conducting audits, and mitigating risks through effective evaluation and collaboration. Your leadership will contribute to the enhancement of our vendor management practices, safeguarding our reputation and business interests.

      You Will:

      • Develop and execute a comprehensive Vendor Audit strategy aligned with the organization's goals and risk management framework

      • Establish clear objectives and performance metrics for the vendor audits, ensuring continuous improvement and growth

      • Lead and oversee the risk assessment, annual planning, execution, and reporting of vendor audits to evaluate compliance, efficiency, and quality of vendor relationships

      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key vendor risks and develop risk-based audit plans

      • Monitor the implementation of corrective action plans resulting from audit findings

      • Internally develop negotiation strategies, cost containment and revenue optimization strategies, support ongoing rebuttals and queries and contribute to overall contract life cycle process improvements and internal controls enhancements

      • Identify opportunities to enhance vendor management processes, controls, and policies to drive efficiency and mitigate risks

      • Implement best practices and industry standards to assist in optimizing vendor selection, onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding processes

      • Foster effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Commercial and Operations teams

      • Engage vendors in constructive dialogue regarding audit findings, improvement opportunities, and performance expectations in conjunction with Procurement

      • Evaluate vendor risks related to data security, compliance, financial stability, and operational performance in collaboration with AltaGas’s Supply Chain and IT teams

      • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions and enhance overall vendor performance

      • Participate in quarterly audit committee reporting and communicate audit results, trends, and insights to key stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making

      • Manage teams and budget allocated for inspection activities, optimizing resources for compliance efforts

      • Create and execute a Vendor & Joint Venture Audit plan and use of the delivery model (co-source, outsource partners) to deliver on plan

      You Have:

      • 10+ Years experience in auditing, vendor management, procurement, or a related role required

      • Demonstrated experience leading audit teams and managing vendor relationships in a complex organization

      • Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance

      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences

      • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

      • Demonstrated ability in analyzing and interpreting contractual terms and conditions considering industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and technical guidelines

      • Proven ability to drive process improvement and influence change in a dynamic environment

      • Proficiency in using audit management software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite

      • Ability to effectively negotiate with counterparties to resolve queries and collect recoveries, resolve commercial differences alongside Procurement

      • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred

      • Master's Degree preferred

      • Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred

      • Joint Venture Accounting or involvement in Joint Venture Governance considered an asset.
