What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Complete coding edit work queues in EPIC while adhering to established coding guidelines
- Reconcile edits and provide constructive feedback to coders based on audit findings
- Compose summaries of audit results to assist in trending, reporting, and data analysis
- Apply problem-solving skills to address complex coding edits related to billing
- Optimize work procedures to achieve maximum efficiency in coding practices
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must hold one (1) of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC
- Three (3) to five (5) years of acute care coding experience
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding systems
- Knowledgeable in medical necessity requirements and the revenue cycle
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience coding across both inpatient and outpatient patient types
