      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Conduct field inspections and review animal health documentation and permits
      - Investigate alleged violations and collect samples for disease surveillance
      - Provide education and technical assistance to farmers, veterinarians, and business owners
      - Collaborate with law enforcement and state and federal partners on animal health issues
      - Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities for animal disease or agricultural incidents

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Associate degree or higher in animal science, biological science, or a veterinary assistance program and two (2) or more years of experience in livestock farming or related enterprises
      - OR high school graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of experience in livestock farming or related enterprises
      - OR one (1) year or more at the Animal Health Specialist I level or equivalent position in a similar government organization
      - Ability to handle exposure to potentially dangerous animals and zoonotic pathogens
      - Capacity to deal with differences of opinion and emotional reactions in a firm and objective manner

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in livestock farm management or other livestock-related enterprises
      - Knowledge of animal health regulations and compliance standards
      - Strong communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders
      - Familiarity with emergency response protocols related to animal health
      - Background in public service or community engagement initiatives
